Bears Win High Scoring Affair in Monroe, 9-6
2018-01-21The Fond du Lac Bears erupted for five goals in the thrid period to down the Monroe Blues 9-6 in Monroe.
A five-goal outburst by the Bears in the third period broke open a 4-4 tie as the Bears left Monroe with a 9-6 Great Lakes Hockey League victory Saturday night.
The victory moves the Bears to 6-3, good for 12 points in the GLHL standings.
Leading the way for the Bears on the night was Joseph
Blagoue who amassed six points (two goals, four assists). No less than five Bears collected multi-point nights, four of which had four points or more, including James Goodfellow, who picked up the hat-trick with a goal each period.
Randy Willis got the start between the pipes and picked up the victory, moving his record to 2-0.
The Bears have next weekend off, before heading up north for dates in Marquette and Calumet on February 2 and 3. The Bears return to home ice on February 16 and 17 for a pair of 8 PM starts against the De Pere Deacons and Fox Cities Ice Dogs at Fond du Lac Blue Line.
