Bears Erease Deficit to Win 7-5 Over Calumet
2018-02-04The Fond du Lac Bears erased an early 2-0 deficit to win 7-5 over the Calumet Wolverines Saturday night.
Seven different Bears found the back of the net Saturday night, erasing an early 2-0 deficit to take a 7-5 victory over the Calumet Wolverines.
Randy Willis picked up the victory in net, stopping 42 of 47 shots he faced.
A five-goal second period pushed the Bears in front, a lead in which they would not relinquish. Ryan Smet, Ian McKinch (power play), Terry Kalata, Benton Deanovich and Niles Owen all lit the lamp.
Tyler Gross (short-handed) and Tyler Acheson scored goals in the third to seal the victory.
Calumet had the edge in shots on goal with a 47-39 advantage.
The win bumps the Bears record to 7-4 in the Great Lakes Hockey League.
The Bears have next weekend off before returning home to Fond du Lac for games on February 16 & 17 against the De Pere Deacons and Fox Cities Ice Dogs. Puck drop for both contests is at 8 PM at the Fond du Lac Blue Line Family Ice Center. Admission is just $5.
