Papermakers Spoil Bears Home Finale
2018-03-11The Mosinee Papermakers came into Fond du Lac and took home a 7-1 victory in the Bears final home game of the season.
The Mosiness Papermakers felt right at home Saturday night at Fond du Lac Blue Line Family Ice Center, as the visitors netted three goals in the first, and two each in the second and third periods, easily taking home a 7-1 win over the host Bears.
With the regular season now in their rear-view mirror, the Bears will now turn their attention to the 2018 Great Lakes Hockey Leauge Tournament, coming up March 23-25 in Calumet, Michigan.
The Bears currently occupy 4th place in the GLHL standings, however, Mosinee has one game remaining, and if they win, that would move them ahead of Fond du Lac.Should the Beras remain in the 4-seed, they would begin tournament play at 8 AM eastern on March 23. If the Bears end up with the 5-seed, their first tournament game would be 1:30 PM.
Matt Greenwod recorded the Bears lone tally with 4:29 left in the first period to cut the Bears deficit to 2-1. Tyler Grebe and Robbie Coleman picked up helpers on the play.
Just 32 seconds later, Mosinee would find the back of the net for the third time in the period and would never look back.
Parker Deanovich got the start in goal, finishing with 30 saves on 37 shots.
