GLHL Tournament Seeding Set; Bears Get Fifth Seed
2018-03-19The Fond du Lac Bears will enter the 2018 Great Lakes Hockey League Tournament as the fifth seed and will open up play against Eagle River.
The 2017-18 Great Lakes Hockey League regular season came to a close over the weekend. With the Mosinee Papermakers 10-3 victory over De Pere, the Papermakers moved ahead of the Bears in the standings, grabbing the fourth seed.
Despite being tied in points, the Papermakers owned the tie-breaker with the Bears, who will now be the fifth seed in the tournament.
Fond du Lac will join Eagle River and archrival West Bend in Pool B of the tournament.
The team's first tournament game will be against Eagle River at 1:30 PM on Friday, March 23. The Bears and Bombers will go at it at 8 AM on Saturday. All times are Eastern time.
The tournament is divided into three pool's, A, B and C, with the top team from each at the end of pool play, plus one wildcard advancing to the semi-finals Saturday night.
The tournament championship will take place Sunday at 1 PM.
