To say that this season has been unusual would be an understatement. The GLHL has pressed on through the ups and down's that have been encountered from varying safety protocols to cancellations of entire seasons for some teams due to COVID. Through it all, one thing has been on the top of everyone's mind. Will the league be able to hold a season-ending tournament? This season's tournament will be slightly different as some teams were forced to make the difficult decision to opt-out of the 2020-2021 season altogether. The five teams that were able to play some games this year and the De Pere Deacons who opted out of the regular season will make the trip to Mosinee March 26th through the 28th to play for the "Original Don Kohlman Cup".
The Tournament will consist of nine total games over three days with the championship game on Sunday, March 28th. The six teams were seeded through a random draw into two groups. Group A consists of the Fond du lac Bears, West Bend Bombers, and Depere Deacons. Group B includes the Mosinee Papermakers, Calumet Wolverines, and reigning tournament champions Fox Cities Ice Dogs. Each team will play two games against the other teams in their group. The winner of each group will advance to play the runner-up of the opposite group in the semi-finals on Saturday evening. The winner of the two semi-finals will advance to play in the championship game Sunday, March 28th at 1 PM.
