Weekend Recap: Bears Win Keevin Cup with Victory Over Bombers

Fond du Lac, WI - The Keevin Cup is back in Fond du Lac after the Bears defeated the West Bend Bombers 11-3 to open the 2021-22 season this past weekend.

Friday (W 11-3) vs. West Bend

Ryan Sabel scored 0:29 into the first frame and the Bears offense was off and running, scoring four in the first period, and tacking on five more in the second in the blowout victory. The Bears' offense was consistent throughout the contest, putting up 16, 15, and 13 shots on goal in their three periods of action. Ryan Sabel (2 G, 1 A) and Danny Roe (0 G, 3 A) led the charge offensively as 13 different Bears recorded points. In goal, Matty Taylor was solid throughout, stopping 28 of 31 shots, not allowing a goal until 14:31 into period number two.
