The Bears are out west in Nevada for their first-ever meeting with the Reno Ice Raiders this Friday and Saturday night.
Reno, NV - The Fond du Lac Bears are taking a break from their normal Great Lakes Hockey League schedule this weekend. Instead, they have flown across the country for a two-game set with the Reno Ice Raiders in Reno, Nevada.
This is the Ice Raiders first season in Reno, after relocating from Oakland. The team was looking for the top teams to play in their inaugural season, and naturally, teams from the GLHL came to mind.
Earlier this season, the Ice Raiders hosted the Calumet Wolverines, also of the GLHL. The Wolverines took both contests, 7-4, and 8-7.
The Bears enter the exhibition series 8-1-1-0 so far on the season, 7-1-1-0 in the GLHL standings, good for first place
The Bears remain the only unbeaten team in regulation this season, entering tonight's matchup with a 6-0-1-0 GLHL record, 7-0-1-0 overall. Their 64 goals scored and +24 goal differential lead the league.
