Fond du Lac, WI - The Bears picked up two more wins over the weekend, beating Calumet on Friday and Portage Lake on Saturday at Blue Line in Fond du Lac.
Friday (W 6-3) vs. Calumet Wolverines
Ryan Smet, Brady Beekman, and Clint Zumer each recorded two-point nights to help the Bears to a 6-3 victory on Military Appreciation Night. A clean game that saw only three total penalities, the teams went back and forth trading scoring chances throughout. Cutting the Bears' lead to 4-3, Beekman and Smet responded with a pair of goals 37 seconds apart to seal the win in the third period. Justin Davidson made 26 saves.
Saturday (W 9-2) vs. Portage Lake
Facing a short-handed Pioneers team, the Bears put three goals in the back of the net in each period in a dominating effort. Smet's strong weekend continued as he picked up the hat-trick in the second period. Beekman and Zumer each had four-point nights, while Nick Monfils and Ryan Sabel continued their strong seasons with three-point efforts each. Matty Taylor picked up the win, making 23 saves.
