Weekend Recap: Offense Scores 19 in Weekend Sweep of De Pere, Calumet

A pair of victories over the weekend against De Pere and Calumet keeps the Bears undefeated in the Great Lakes Hockey League and overall, as the team now sits at 7-0, 6-0 in the GLHL.

Friday (W 10-4) @ De Pere Deacons

The Bears went on the road to De Pere Friday and came away with an impressive 10-4 victory over the host Deacons. 16 of the 20 skaters in the lineup recorded at least a point in the matchup, led by the trio of Anthony Grebe (0-3-3), Dan Smolen (1-2-3), and Robbie Coleman (2-1-3). The Bears fired 60 shots on net, including 27 in the second period when they scored four times to take command of the game. Alex Kruger made 36 saves in net for the Bears.

Saturday (W 9-2) vs. Calumet Wolverines

The offense remained red-hot Saturday, scoring three goals in each period for the 9-2 win. Jordon Foster's impressive season continued, as the rugged forward finished with four goals, giving him 20 points in the GLHL in six games. Brad Beekman and Coleman each had four-point nights as well in the winning effort in front of a rockin' and rowdy crowd at Blue Line.

The Bears close out the 2022 portion of the schedule on Saturday, Decmeber 17 with an exhibition contest against Top Shelf Chicago at 8 PM. The team will then have off for Christmas and New Year's before resuming GLHL play January 7th at home against Marquette. Tickets are available now on Eventbrite.com.
