Weekend Preview: Bears Face Falcons for First Time This Season

For the first time this season, the Bears and Eagle River Falcons will face off on the ice as the Bears travel to Eagle River tonight for a matchup at the historic "Dome".
They enter tonight's game coming off an exciting comeback victory last weekend in Mosinee. Trailing 5-2, the Bears scored four unanswered, including the winner in overtime to escape Mosinee with the 6-5 victory. The win pushed the Bears to 10-0-0-0 overall, 8-0-0-0 in the Great Lakes Hockey League, good for first place in the GLHL.
The Bears come to Eagle River averaging 9.00 goals per game on offense, which is 2.22 goals per game more than any other team in the GLHL this season while allowing 4.13 goals per game against, which is third best.
For the Falcons, they have collected eight points in five games so far this season as they enter tonight's matchup 4-1-0-0. They are averaging 6.40 goals scored per game and 4.60 goals against per game.
The Bears will need to make sure they stay out of the penalty box tonight. Coming into tonight's game, the Bears are leading the league with 17.25 penalty minutes per game, while the Falcons are only averaging 7.60 penalty minutes per game, the second-fewest in the GLHL.
