Weekend Preview: Bears Host Two This Weekend

The regular season is drawing to a close and the Bears have wrapped up the 2022-23 GLHL regular season championship, but the team is looking to stay hot heading into the league tournament.

Heading into the weekend, the Bears are 19-1-0-0 overall, 17-1-0-0 in the GLHL.

Their opponents this weekend are the De Pere Deacons in a GLHL matchup, and Hockey Factory in an exhibition contest. The puck drops both nights at 8 PM at Blue Line Family Ice Center in Fond du Lac.

The Bears currently sit 3-0 against the Deacons this season, winning 10-4 in De Pere on December 9, 4-3 in Fond du Lac on February 10, and 7-1 in De Pere on February 17. This will be the final meeting of the regular season between the two squads. 

The matchup between the Bears and Deacons features two teams at opposite ends of the standings. The Bear's offense ranks first in the GLHL with 133 goals scored in 17 games played. The Deacons, who currently sit last in the GLHL with a 4-13-0-0 record, have the fewest goals scored, with just 72.
