The Fond du Lac Bears delivered a commanding performance on Saturday night, shutting out the M&M Shamrocks 13-0 in a one-sided game that demonstrated their offensive firepower and defensive solidity.

The Bears came out firing from the opening faceoff, controlling the puck and peppering the Shamrocks' goaltender with 24 shots in the first period. Connor Martin opened the scoring with a laser of a shot at 18:13, assisted by Ryan Sabel and Anthony Grebe. Less than six minutes later, Malachi Buchholz doubled the lead with an unassisted effort.

Meanwhile, the Bears’ defense was suffocating, allowing only five shots on goal and killing off a cross-checking penalty against Nolan McDermott.

The Bears turned up the intensity in the second period, scoring five goals to put the game out of reach. David Shake started the scoring at 16:16, capitalizing on a setup from Malachi and Jarrett Buchholz. Just over a minute later, Micah Buchholz buried another one on a pass by Nick Sirota, with Brady Beekman also earning an assist.

The Bears’ relentless attack continued as Ryan Sabel found the back of the net at 9:36, followed by Matt Letmanski’s tally at 6:02. Anthony Grebe capped off the period with a goal at 3:27, assisted by Sabel and Letmanski, bringing the score to 7-0.

The final period was a showcase for Brady Beekman, who scored an incredible four goals, including a natural hat trick within a seven-minute span. Beekman’s first goal came unassisted at 18:40, and he followed it up with tallies at 11:18, 6:04, and 5:06, thanks to crisp passes from Sirota, Sabel, and Dillon Fox.

Anthony Grebe added his second goal of the night at 4:24, assisted by McDermott and Niles Owen. Jarrett Buchholz closed out the scoring with an unassisted effort at 3:41, cementing the Bears’ dominance.

Justin Davidson Shines in Net

Goaltender Justin Davidson was a brick wall for the Bears, stopping all 20 shots he faced to earn the shutout. The defense played a crucial role, blocking shots and breaking up plays to support their netminder.

Special Teams Battle

While the Bears racked up penalties of their own, their penalty kill unit was perfect, shutting down all seven Shamrocks power plays. The Bears’ discipline wavered slightly in the third period, with tensions boiling over into a series of roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on both sides.

Key Performances

  • Brady Beekman: 4 goals, 1 assist
  • Anthony Grebe: 2 goals, 2 assists
  • Ryan Sabel: 1 goal, 3 assists
  • Justin Davidson: 20 saves, 1.000 SV%
