2025-01-20

The Bears put on a show this weekend, sweeping the De Pere Deacons and Sun Prairie Killer Bees in commanding fashion.

The Fond du Lac Bears (13-2-0-0 Overall, 8-2-0-0 GLHL) put on a show this weekend, sweeping the De Pere Deacons and Sun Prairie Killer Bees in commanding fashion. The Bears outscored their opponents 28-2 across the two games, while catapulting themselves back to the top of the Great Lakes Hockey League standings.

Friday Night Shutout in De Pere
The Bears opened the weekend with an 8-0 shutout of the De Pere Deacons at the De Pere Ice Arena. Goaltender Justin Davidson was stellar, stopping all 22 shots he faced for his second straight GLHL shutout.

Brady Beekman led the way offensively with a four-goal performance, including a natural hat trick in the second period. He added an unassisted tally early in the third to cap off his night. Dillon Fox chipped in two goals and an assist, while Jordan Foster and Matt Letmanski each added a goal.

The Bears dominated in every facet, outshooting the Deacons 59-22 and shutting down all three De Pere power-play opportunities.

Saturday Night Scoring Frenzy at Home
Returning to the home ice on Saturday, the Bears lit up the scoreboard with a 20-2 victory over the Sun Prairie Killer Bees. It was a night to remember, with 13 different Bears registering points and six players recording multiple goals.

Matt Letmanski started the scoring with a pair of first-period goals, while David Shake and Justin Schwartzmiller each scored twice. Dillon Fox continued his hot streak with two goals and two assists, and Dayne Deanovich added a goal and two helpers.

The Bears overwhelmed the Killer Bees from the start, scoring seven goals in the first period and eight more in the second, before closing out the game with five goals in the third. Fond du Lac peppered Sun Prairie goaltender Chad Battisfore with 75 shots, compared to just 18 faced by Bears netminder Alex Kruger.
