Road Woes Continue For Bears in Loss to Eagle River
2019-02-11The road woes continued for the Bears this weekend, resulting in a 6-2 loss in Eagle River.
The Bears are still sitting with just one victory on the road as we hit the midway point of February after a loss in Eagle River this weekend.
Friday (L, 6-2) vs. Eagle River
Trailing 3-2 entering the third, the Bears couldn't generate the offense needed to complete the comeback attempt. Instead, Eagle River sealed the game away with a three-goal period to take the 6-2 victory.
The Bears led for only 4:48 during the game, capturing the first goal of the game by David Schlicting. Eagle River would tally the equalizer just minutes later, sending the game into the first intermission tied 1-1.
The Falcons would grab the lead early in the second with two goals in a 1:06 span.
The Bears would pull within one on a power play goal by Alec Thiessen, but that's as close as the team would get.
Parker Deanovich made 38 saves in the losing effort. He faced 44 shots.
The two teams also tallied up 68 penalty minutes, with Terry Kalata and Tyler Acheson both racking up 16 PIM's.
